Buying a horse is a big financial commitment, regardless of the asking price. Therefore, the importance of a prepurchase exam, to determine health and soundness, is undeniable. We offer an extensive exam which includes oral, ophthalmic, general health, conformation, full-body palpation, in-depth lameness evaluation and a neurologic assessment. Reproductive health can also be evaluated if necessary. Our lameness exam includes evaluating the walk, trot and canter on a hard surface and in a well-groomed arena, both in a straight line and circles. Flexion exams are done on each joint and hoof testers are applied.On request, drug testing, blood work, computed radiography and digital ultrasound is available.
