We have in-house blood work equipment, including CBC and Chemisty machines, that allow for immediate evaluation of our patients systemic health. Our Abaxis HM5 CBC machine is very useful to evaluate the patients white and red blood cell count, hydration status and platelet levels. Our Abaxis Vetscan chemisty panel machine gives us information on the horse’s different internal systems including, liver, digestive, urinary, muscle and endocrine. We can evaluate blood smears, fecal samples for parasites, tissue samples, fluid samples, and semen quality (spermatozoa motility and morphology). Our densimeter machine is used to evaluate spermatozoal concentration and foal immunoglobulin (IgG) levels.
