There is no doubt that lameness evaluation is a very critical part of equine veterinary medicine. Here at Roche Equine, we use a methodical approach and take pride in our state-of-the art diagnostic equipment. All of our lameness exams include obtaining a detailed history, evaluating the horses general conformation, thorough palpation, gait at the walk, trot, and canter, hoof tester application and flexion tests. We offer regional nerve blocks and intra-articular anesthesia.Once the lameness is localized, diagnosis is critical. Our diagnostics include computed radiography and/or digital ultrasound.If your horses’ soundness issue proves to be beyond our diagnostic capabilities or needs care from a specialist, the doctors at Roche Equine have an excellent relationship with multiple referral hospitals and specialists.
